Mat MacEley-Young

IT and Business Director

Mat has been in IT since 2003 but has had an interest since the early 80's (at the tender age of 8) and the Electronic industry since 1994.

He and Sara Haynes started Enable Disability after seeing a gap with charity work that needed to be filled.

Mat has experience in running successful businesses both start ups and buy-outs, and also deals with some of the legal issues that Disabled and vulnerable people face.

Mat Says "The aim of any charity should be 'not to be needed'. I beleive we can achieve this aim by providing reactive and proactive services".

Sarah Haynes

Client Services Director

Sarah has many years of experience working within the customer service industry and working with disabled and vulnerable people, epsecially providing help to people with benefit form filling.

Sarah brings with her a 98% success rate of obtaining Benefits via the DWP, and navigating the mandatory refusal policies the department is complaint to.

Tying up with Mat to start up Enable Disability , Sarahs experience of Advocacy and completing DWP forms has helped countless people achieve access to Universal Credit, PIP, Extended UC (formally DLA) benefits amongst others.
Sarah has been trained by the DWP themselves to fulfil this role.

Scott McAteer

Trustee and Quality Advisor.

Scott has 20 years of Quality Expereince and 21 years of Electronic Experience which he brings to Enable Disability.

Being an expert at quality management, especially policies and procedures, Scott will keep us on the straight and narrow with all the compliances that Enable Disability has to comply with.

Scott brings Quality experience from BAE, Rolls Royce and the Fire Equipment industries.

Jamie Chako

Volunteer Housing Advisor

Jamie has worked in the Social Housing Sector for 6 years, and has recently changed jobs becoming a care worker.

In her social housing support role she was line supervisor for South Lakes housing.

She still keeps up to date with housing information, and Volunteers for us lending years of experience in the field to our clients.

Sophie Thomlinson

Marketing Guru Sophie comes to us as a volunteer with over 15 years’ marketing experience both with brands and (marketing) agencies in London and a Master’s in Food Marketing.

The Brands Sophie has worked for include Innocent, Onken Yogurts, Little Dish and Popchips.

Sophie focuses on strategy, guidance, traditional & digital marketing. She is passionate about marketing products or services she believes in.

Sophie now works for herself at her new firm "Inspire Marketing".
